Natural Hair + Curl Formers = Beautiful Heatless Curls!
This is also a great graduation style!!
Congrats to all of the graduates out there!
That is a HUGE accomplishment and you should be proud!!
Here is the curl former video that I’ve been talking about! Now yes, of course I have natural hair, but actually this style can work on any hair type! In fact, curl formers were not even made with African Americans in mind! But they are perfect if you want beautiful, soft, heatless curls! :0)
For my first experience with curl formers, I must say it was a success. I really liked how they came out! I just wish they would have lasted longer! But it was a perfect hair style for a nice Mother’s Day afternoon! (Mom’s you truly are appreciated!) The weather was perfect!
All together it took about an hour and 20 minutes to put them in. I slept with them in that night … no wait… I tried to sleep with them in that night! lol! Then I took them out the next morning.
I had 48 curl formers, and I used every single one! I used extra long/wide and long/narrow. I was worried at first, but I really liked the two different sizes, it added a little volume to the style! I will definitely be doing this style again!!
I posted some pics on my facebook page of some different styling options, click on the picture below, and it will take you right there! :0)
I hope you guys like it!
I wish I could have kept them in longer, but I had a tough workout the next morning, and they didn’t last. I kind of figured that was going to happen though. But if I were trying to preserve the style, I would have used the pineapple method that I used with the flexi rod set.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

I know you said it in your video but i didn’t catch it….what did you put in your hair before you put the curlformer on?
I put a mixture of Cantu Shea Butter and Herbal Essence Totally Twisted Gel :0)
Thanks so much! i cant wait to try this. Ive tried everything and my curlformers still havent come out the way I want them to…
I totally love this style and really would like to try it. I have a hard time twisting my hair in the back. How did you manage to get the curlformers on correctlyin the back?
I love your website and your youtube page. the information is so great and helpful!!
Thank you
I have just recently found you and your website, I am sooo impressed by allllll the information you provide. I also like that you give great step by step instructions on how you do what you do. (thank you) Some folks like me need that. I am new to natural hair, and its care etc. you are a “TRUE FIND”, I will be following you faithfully for guidance. Thank you again for all you do.
I have to admit, sleeping in curlformers is a pain. I tried it and I didn’t get any sleep. I ended up waking up at 5am and removing them. I slept much better after that.
I did purchase the 40 extra wide/long and found after 2 tries that it’s not quite enough. I love how it did allow me to be able to get pretty close to straight hair without using heat and with less work. Your hair is beautiful and I hope you try it again and it last much longer next time.
I just want to know where you found the curlformers from because im about 7 months i8n and i wanna try the curl just once to see how it looks
I just stumbled across your tutuorial on youtube and then found out about your web page. I am truly excited. I have been natural for 6 years, but have always straightened my hair or twisted it. I have been trying the curly girl method which I like but can’t get it to last. I can’t wait to try the curl formers. I am hoping to purchase some soon. Looking forward to learning more about how to style my natural, tight, kinky hair
